History
Gombe State Polytechnic was established by the Gombe State Government following the creation of Gombe State from Bauchi State in 1996, as part of the new state\'s investment in tertiary education infrastructure. The Bajoga location, in Funakaye Local Government Area, was selected for available land and to extend technical education access beyond the Gombe metropolitan concentration. The polytechnic admitted its first students with founding schools in engineering, applied sciences and business studies.
