1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using academics.ng ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2. Description of service

academics.ng is an educational information platform providing structured data about Nigerian tertiary institutions, scholarships, examinations, and career pathways. The Platform offers content, calculators, and other free tools for informational purposes.

3. Accuracy and disclaimers

We strive to maintain accurate and current information, but academics.ng provides content "as-is" without warranties of any kind. Cutoff marks, fees, dates, and admission policies change frequently. Always verify critical decisions with the issuing institution or regulatory body (JAMB, NUC, NBTE, NCCE) before relying on Platform information.

4. User-generated content

If you submit reviews, comments, or other content to the Platform:

  • You confirm the content is truthful and based on personal experience.
  • You grant academics.ng a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to publish, edit, and distribute the content.
  • You are responsible for legal consequences of false, defamatory, or harmful content.
  • We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove user-submitted content at our sole discretion.

5. Prohibited conduct

  • Submitting fraudulent reviews or false information.
  • Attempting to disrupt, hack, or overload the Platform.
  • Scraping or reselling Platform content without written permission.
  • Impersonating any individual, institution, or government agency.
  • Using the Platform for unlawful or commercial purposes outside expressly permitted advertising channels.

6. Intellectual property

All Platform content (text, structured data, code, design) except user-generated content and third-party data is owned by academics.ng or licensed for use. You may share links and quote excerpts with attribution. Bulk reproduction requires written permission.

7. Third-party links

The Platform contains links to third-party websites (JAMB, NUC, institutions, NELFUND, etc.). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or accuracy.

8. Limitation of liability

academics.ng shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform — including but not limited to admission outcomes, financial decisions, or career choices made on the basis of Platform information.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold academics.ng harmless from any claims arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform.

10. Termination

We may terminate or restrict access to the Platform for users who violate these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in Nigerian courts of competent jurisdiction.
