History
Osun State University was established in 2006 by the Osun State Government under Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, as the state\'s flagship public university. The institution adopted an innovative multi-campus federated structure with six campuses distributed across Osun State, ensuring equitable access and infrastructure distribution. UNIOSUN admitted its first students in 2007 with founding faculties on the various campuses: Osogbo (administration, basic medical and clinical sciences), Okuku (agriculture), Ifetedo (sciences), Ikire (humanities), Ipetu-Ijesha (basic and applied sciences) and Ejigbo (management sciences). Through the 2010s and 2020s the institution expanded substantially under successive administrations, adding new faculties including the College of Health Sciences. UNIOSUN has invested in modern infrastructure across all campuses.
