PAMO University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) is a private specialised medical university located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The institution focuses on medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing and allied health sciences education. The university is named after PAMO Clinics — the chain of private hospitals founded by Dr Peter Odili (former Governor of Rivers State, 1999-2007, and a medical doctor). Direct Entry admission is available for candidates with relevant A-Level, ND, HND, NCE or other recognised qualifications. History

PAMO University of Medical Sciences was established in 2017 by Dr Peter Odili, former Governor of Rivers State (1999-2007), as a private specialised medical university. Dr Odili — a paediatrician by training — founded PAMO Clinics as a chain of private hospitals across Nigeria before establishing the university. The Port Harcourt location was selected for available land at the existing PAMO Clinics infrastructure base. PUMS received NUC and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) approvals and admitted its first MBBS students. The institution operates with strong clinical training infrastructure leveraging the PAMO Clinics network for affiliations. PUMS has built reputation as one of Nigeria\'s established private medical universities.
