PAMO University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) is a private specialised medical university located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The institution focuses on medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing and allied health sciences education. The university is named after PAMO Clinics โ the chain of private hospitals founded by Dr Peter Odili (former Governor of Rivers State, 1999-2007, and a medical doctor). Undergraduate admission is conducted through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with candidates required to meet minimum O-Level credit requirements in five subjects including English Language and mathematics where relevant, plus institutional post-UTME screening. Direct Entry admission is available for candidates with relevant A-Level, ND, HND, NCE or other recognised qualifications. History
PAMO University of Medical Sciences was established in 2017 by Dr Peter Odili, former Governor of Rivers State (1999-2007), as a private specialised medical university. Dr Odili โ a paediatrician by training โ founded PAMO Clinics as a chain of private hospitals across Nigeria before establishing the university. The Port Harcourt location was selected for available land at the existing PAMO Clinics infrastructure base. PUMS received NUC and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) approvals and admitted its first MBBS students. The institution operates with strong clinical training infrastructure leveraging the PAMO Clinics network for affiliations. PUMS has built reputation as one of Nigeria\'s established private medical universities.

Campus & Infrastructure
PAMO University of Medical Sciences operates from a campus in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with basic medical sciences buildings, anatomy and physiology laboratories, the university library, lecture theatres and student hostels. Clinical training is conducted through the affiliated PAMO Clinics network and other partner teaching hospitals. Port Harcourt is the Rivers State capital and a major Niger Delta commercial centre. Air access is via Port Harcourt International Airport with daily flights to Lagos and Abuja and international flights to Accra.
