Oduduwa University (OUI), located in Ipetumodu, Osun State, is a private university in south-western Nigeria. The institution operates faculties spanning the natural and applied sciences, social and management sciences, humanities, environmental sciences, basic medical sciences and clinical sciences. Student enrolment is growing across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The institution is named in honour of Oduduwa, the mythical ancestor of the Yoruba people and founder of the Yoruba royal dynasties. Oduduwa University serves Osun State and the broader South-West, providing private university education with Yoruba cultural heritage.
History
Oduduwa University was established in 2009 as a private university in Ipetumodu, near Ile-Ife, Osun State. The institution was named in honour of Oduduwa, the mythical founder of the Yoruba people whose legendary descent from the heavens at Ile-Ife established Yoruba civilisation according to Yoruba oral tradition. The Ipetumodu location was selected for its proximity to Ile-Ife (the spiritual capital of Yoruba civilisation) and available land. The institution received NUC approval and admitted its first students in 2009 with founding faculties in sciences, social sciences and management. Through subsequent years the institution has expanded faculty offerings, adding the College of Medicine and additional programmes.

Campus & Infrastructure
Oduduwa University operates from a campus in Ipetumodu, in Ife North Local Government Area, eastern Osun State, near the historic city of Ile-Ife. The campus features academic infrastructure including faculty buildings, the College of Medicine complex, research laboratories, the university library, lecture theatres, student halls of residence, the chapel and sports facilities. Ipetumodu is connected by road to Ile-Ife (about 30 minutes south-east), Osogbo (1 hour north-west) and Ibadan (1.5 hours west). Air access is via Ibadan Airport with regular flights to Lagos and Abuja.
