Nigerian Army University Biu

The Nigerian Army University, Biu (NAUB) is the federal specialised university affiliated with the Nigerian Army, located in Biu, Borno State. NAUB operates 5 faculties covering Engineering, Computing, Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, and Management Sciences, with academic programmes for both uniformed Army cadets and civilian undergraduate students admitted through JAMB UTME. History

The Nigerian Army University, Biu was established by federal decree in 2018 as the federal university affiliated with the Nigerian Army, paralleling the Nigerian Defence Academy\'s role in officer training. The institution was sited in Biu, Borno State, in the North-East region that had been the operational theatre of the Boko Haram insurgency since 2009 — the establishment of NAUB was seen as a contribution to regional security stabilisation and educational rebuilding. NAUB admitted its first students in October 2019. The institution operates a five-year programme for uniformed Army cadets combining academic studies with military training, and conventional four-year programmes for civilian students. NAUB has rapidly built reputation for its programmes in Cybersecurity and Military Engineering.

The Nigerian Army University main campus is in Biu, Borno State, approximately 200 km south of Maiduguri. The campus combines Army training facilities with conventional university academic buildings (faculty complexes, the Library, the Senate Building) and residential accommodation. The campus operates under Army security protocols. Biu is connected by road to Maiduguri (about 3 hours north) and to Yola (about 4 hours south-east). The nearest major airports are Maiduguri International Airport and Yola Airport.
