Change of Course

A step-by-step guide to changing your course before or after admission, with official portals and fees.

## Pre-Admission: Change of Course Via JAMB JAMB allows candidates to change their course (and/or institution) once after the UTME, before admission decisions are finalised. This is done via the JAMB efacility portal. ### Steps: 1. Log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng with your registration number and password. 2. Click 'Change of Course / Institution'. 3. Confirm payment of the official fee (currently ₦2,500 — verify on the portal). 4. Make payment via Remita. 5. After payment confirmation, select the new course and/or institution. 6. Save and print the slip. ### Important Rules - You can change ONCE per cycle. - The new course must accept your UTME subject combination. Use our [Subject Combination Checker](/tool/subject-combination-checker/). - Your JAMB score must meet the new course's cutoff at the new institution. - Change of Course is separate from Change of Institution — fees and portals are similar but they are different transactions. ## Post-Admission: Internal Course Transfer Once you've been admitted and registered as a student, course change becomes an internal institutional matter — usually after the first semester or first year. Most institutions allow it under these conditions: - Minimum CGPA of 3.0–3.5 in the first semester/year (varies). - The receiving department has a vacancy. - You meet the original UTME and O'Level requirements for the new course. - You apply through the registrar's office or student affairs.
