For Guidance and Counselling, you typically need 5 credit passes at SSCE level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings. Required subjects include:

  • English Language — credit pass (C6 or better) is compulsory.
  • Mathematics — credit pass (C6 or better) is compulsory for most science courses.
  • Three (3) additional credit passes in subjects matching the JAMB combination above.

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

You can also gain admission into Guidance and Counselling via Direct Entry if you hold any of:

  • OND/HND with at least Upper Credit in a related discipline.
  • NCE with at least Merit in two relevant teaching subjects.
  • A'Level / IJMB / JUPEB with passes in at least two relevant subjects.
  • Cambridge A'Level in at least two related subjects.
  • First degree from a recognised institution (for second-degree applicants).

Direct Entry students typically join at 200-level, shortening the programme by one year. Apply through JAMB's DE registration (not UTME).
